Resolution Service

Get Started Now

With the Divorce Nonlawyer Resolution Service, both parties will individually fill out their paperwork with the document preparer and then afterwards you can highlight the items that you are willing to discuss. Both spouses then ‘trade’ highlighted paperwork, or discuss directly, and see if they can come to an agreement. The document preparer will then prepare the ‘final’ agreement for the parties to file.

In order to use this service, you must decide upfront who is to be the petitioner and who is to be the respondent. The petitioner is the person that will be asking the court for a divorce and the respondent is the person that responds to the request. You must also decide which forms will be filled out for both husband and wife.

NOTE: Keep in mind that this is still a document preparation service ONLY and will cost more for the preparation of three sets of documents (wife/husband/final), but may also cost substantially less than a full-fledged court battle. The document preparer will not be able to answer legal questions, 'smooth things over' with your spouse or assist in any way with agreements or disagreements. If you are not able to come to an agreement for the final document, then you may need to contact an attorney.

If you are not sure if the resolution service would work in your particular situation, keep in mind that divorce disputes can and have been fought all the way up to trial, only to be possibly finalized across a conference table with attorneys sitting idly by (while they are collecting a hefty hourly fee).  Choosing to set emotions aside and ‘agreeing to disagree’ over a kitchen table is much less expensive than ‘duking-it-out’ over a conference table several months (or years) in the future.

While it may be tempting to continue ‘the fight’ past what should be a new beginning for you and your soon to be ex-spouse, you are on this website for one reason. That reason is that you know that the marriage needs to come to an end and you are looking for a cordial solution. A good-natured divorce may be what you both need to enable you to move forward with your life. So, if you are already in agreement with your spouse as to the specifics of your divorce OR if you think there is a chance that you may be able to get your spouse to ‘agree to disagree’ on some items and resolve the final chapter in your marriage peacefully, then let’s get started filling out the Nonlawyer Disclousre paperwork for both the husband and wife.

Because it is understood that you may still not come to an agreement on your own even after 'putting it all on paper', Divorcenonlawyer.com only charges you a discounted rate for two sets of document preparation. When both parties have agreed on the 'final set' of documents to be filed, you will then pay a discounted rate for the final preparation of your documents. if you are unable to come to an agreement, there will be no refund, however you will not have to pay the final documentation preparation fee of $99.

STEPS

Here is what to expect with the divorce resolution document preparation service.

1. Both you and your spouse electronically sign a Nonlawyer Disclosure Form which is required by Florida State Law before any document preparer can assist you with paperwork or collect any fee.

2. Once both forms have been signed and received by the document preparer (if you are both available, then this can be done right now by clicking the link above), you can pay your fee and set individual appointments with your document preparer to prepare your petition for dissolution of marriage documents. Your document preparer will not, under any circumstances talk with you both on the phone at the same time.

3. Your document preparer will then email you both your documents at the email addresses provided on your individual disclosure forms. Then, you can sit down and highlight the items that you are willing to negotiate with your spouse or you can just discuss them directly with each other. (Your document preparer legally cannot and will not be able to assist with this part of the process.)

5. Once you and your spouse have come to an agreement on how the final set of documents are to be prepared, contact your document preparer to arrange for payment of the fee and make your appointment for final document preparation.

COSTS

Here are the costs involved after you have filled out the initial contact form and signed your Nonlawyer Disclosure:

Two sets of document preparation $499 (normally $299 x 2 = $598)

Final document preparation $99

Total cost for this service comes to $598 which is the same as getting your third set of documents prepared for free and is SUBSTANTIALLY less than each of you might spend for attorneys to represent you both seperately through a court battle. By deciding to resolve the specific issues of your divorce, you could save yourselves thousands of dollars and many months of fighting.
